Hello Creatures,
As you know, we spent the weekend in Philadelphia at PAX Unplugged playing and selling games. The weekend was unbelievable. There was never a dull moment. Our game tables stayed busy the entire weekend! The table that had Maple Valley on it was especially so. It was super exciting to meet some of our fans, and even some of you! We got home late last night. But at the end of our drive, one of our staff insisted that we play The Final Countdown as we were approaching his home. It was at that moment when I knew that I had to use it as the title of my next update. So, here we are.
As I always do, I wanted to say welcome those of you who have joined us since Saturday (our last update). We are really rolling right now, and it is because of you! To those of you who have stuck with us since day 1 or have been here for a while, we've loved your energy and have really been enjoying running this campaign with you! Creatures, this would not be possible without any of you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for your support!
Now, on to the good stuff...
What We've Unlocked
All Feathered Friends are now in the game. So excited to have a different way to travel around the board. And aren't they so adorable??
What We're Working On
You asked for it and we listened. Yes another wood component in the game!! Wooden maps will help us get to where we need to get to quicker, and now with style!!
This event is our last of the Maple Valley campaign. Let's make it a good one!! It was inspired by our incredible Maple Valley community. Check it out!

New Stretch Goals Smashed and Revealed, PAX U Update

Hello Creatures!
Whooohooo! What a couple of days we've had! Am I right!? It must be the excitement of being at a convention while running a Kickstarter campaign that has made it seem like the last few days have been a whirlwind! Maybe it's just all the fun we're having. Either way, this campaign is really rocking! We'll talk more about that in just a moment. But before we do, a HUGE welcome to the hundreds of backers who have joined us since our last update. You certainly joined at the right time. We have so much amazing stuff still in store for all of you. And to our outstanding backers who have been here for some time or since the beginning, you really are so awesome for sticking around! Now on to the really fun stuff...
What We've Unlocked
We made it! These two stretch goals were so exciting to reveal. But it turns out they were even more exciting to reach! We love to include mini-expansions with our Kickstarter games. And this is one of the best we've come up with, if I do say so myself. The Feathered Friends will give you a whole new way to travel around the board and do actions in different ways.
And how about the new Favour: Table Games!? You knew we couldn't run a Kickstarter campaign without some sort of meta-stretch goal, right? What a great new Entertainment Favour.
What We're Working On
Let's stretch these birds out! Two more Feathered Friends to join the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, the Belted Kingfisher, and the Black-capped Chickadee! The Great Blue Heron and Red-tailed Hawk are just as adorable as their friends!
While We're On the Subject of Stretch Goals
A couple of amazing backers were discussing the funny terms we use when we unlock stretch goals, and have been trying to guess what the next ones will be. Here's a fun activity for today. Comment in the main comment section with the words you think we'll use when we unlock the Great Blue Heron and the Red-tailed Hawk. We'll see if any of you are right. We have been having the best time at PAX U, here in Philadelphia, showing off our games, but especially loving demoing Maple Valley. Designer Roberta Taylor has been here with us all weekend. What a rush it's been watching her teach her own game to fans of Creature Comforts and now Maple Valley!

PAX Unplugged and 1 Week Remaining

Hey Creatures,
I can hardly believe that there is only 1 week left of this campaign. We've been really rolling, especially the last couple of days!! It's been so much fun spending this time with you. Over the next few days we'll be at PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia. But more on that below. For now, if you've joined us since the last update, we wanted to welcome you to our campaign. And if you've been with us for a while or even since the beginning, you know that we value your pledge and your ideas so much! Thanks so much for sticking around. So much more fun to come!!
Black Friday Patch Event
We've been having a really great time with so much backer interaction on this campaign. First we had our Patch Event in which backers suggested Patch themes that they wanted to see in the game. We had some really fantastic suggestions, but only 5 were chosen to move on to the next round! Backers voted for their favourite 2 themes. With those votes, we included the Rock Skipping and Cloud Watching. But we didn't want to leave it there. So we asked backers to tag and share this Facebook post, in order to get 400 shares/tags combined. Doing so would add the last three Patches to the game. Guess what!? You all did it! You shared and tagged over 400 separate times. We couldn't be more proud to include Campfire Cookin', Fossil Findin', and Whittling Patches to Maple Valley! Unfortunately I don't have a graphic for this because Josh is in Philadelphia already. I just couldn't wait to update you!
Maple Valley at PAX Unplugged
As I mentioned earlier, Josh (and the rest of the team) area already in Philadelphia. I head out tomorrow morning. I am very excited to get to see some of you. If you are planning on being there, please be sure to stop by and say hello. You can play a few rounds of Maple Valley if you'd like, AND you can meet Creature Comforts/Maple Valley's Designer, Roberta Taylor.
What We're Working On
Remember a little bit ago I told you that the Feathered Friends Stretch Goal isn't as far away as you might think? We are so close to adding it to the game. Can't wait for this one!!
After we reach the Feathered friends, we'll be working toward the Table Games Favour. It isn't a KTBG game without a nod to the hobby that we love so dearly.
There are so many more Stretch Goals to come. As we get closer to the end of this campaign, they will come faster and faster. Wait until you see what we have in store for you!!!!!!

Patch Share Update and More Stretch Goals!

Hello Creatures!
It's hard to believe we've unlocked two stretch goals since my last update to you. We're going to talk more about that soon, but first... a big thank you to those of you who have joined us since our last update. And to those of you who have been here for some time, you're just such a joy to share a campaign with. We've really been having such an incredible time with you all. Thank you for your comments, your shares, and especially your ideas! Keep it coming!!
What We've Unlocked
I was really stoked to add these Costume Favours to our game for so many reasons. But the two biggest ones are that who doesn't love a good costume party, and I'm excited to be able to optimize my game and effect someone else's game. This is one of those rare opportunities that can make you really change scoring in the game.
Oh the Swimmin' Hole! Excited to add some fresh opportunities to trade in the game. But also this card is so cute!
What We're Working On
It might seem like this Stretch Goal is so far away. And it is. But it isn't. We'll get there in no time. And if you know a KTBG Kickstarter campaign, you know this will be a walk in the park! This one has been in the works for a long time, and I couldn't wait to show it to you. Some of you already knew (from previous campaigns) that we would have a mini-expansion waiting. And here it is! Also ... birdies!!!!!!!!
It wouldn't be a KTBG game without a nod to our [collective] favourite hobby. The new Table Games Favour can be extra-impactful if you add a little Birch for a playing surface!

Another One Crushed and Announcing Our New Patches

Over a week in, and I sincerely cannot believe where we are! Almost $280 000CA, 708% funded, and 3 471 backers strong. I'm so incredibly humbled by this amazing community we have cultivated in the Creature Comforts world for the Maple Valley campaign. Welcome to all of our backers that have joined us in the last day or two. And to those of you who have been here, commented, cheered on, and complimented others on this campaign, we are so thankful to you. You are making this 23-day campaign breeze by. Now, what we're here for...
What We've Unlocked
I was excited to introduce the Blue Spotted Salamander to you, and now I'm excited to say that we've sa-lammed it 🤪 Look at that beauty! Crafting Favours from the display is going to prove to be very handy!
What We're Working On
I absolutely love the art on these new Favours. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. More variability is exciting. New favours make for more variability in the game. This one is special because it allows you to affect placement on the Festivities! Pretty powerful end-of-game tool!
And our first Outpost! So much more trading now, at the Swimmin' Hole... you can even refresh a tired Friend there mid-round!
